Heartbreak High
Heartbreak High was an Australian teen series from 1994 to 1999 about the lives of students at the multi-cultural Hartley High School in Sydney . The series is a continuation of the film Heartbreak Kid with Alex Dimitriades and Claudia Karvan .

In Australia , the series started in 1994 on the television channel Network Ten and brought it to six seasons and 210 episodes. In Germany , the ZDF showed the first 52 episodes from September 16, 1994, but the ratings were below expectations. From January 20, 1996, the series switched to Sat.1 and was continued there. The last 50 episodes of the series have not yet been broadcast in Germany.

The entire series is about different cliques who all attend high school and their worries and needs as well as friendships, romantic relationships and problems. The students come from different milieus and cultures, whatever creates potential for conflict. At first the Poulos family and their son Nick were in the foreground, but as the seasons went on, other characters came to the fore. It was typical of the series that, in addition to soap opera elements, it also addressed tougher youth issues and implemented them realistically. In contrast to other school series, the focus remained on school and not on the characters 'experiences after leaving school, such as Beverly Hills, 90210 or Dawson's Creek , which illuminated the characters' lives in college.
