Martin Würmli

Martin Würmli (born March 26, 1978 in St. Gallen ) is a Swiss politician . The member of the Christian Democratic People's Party (CVP) has been the town clerk of Zug since 2014 .

biography

Würmli grew up in the city of St. Gallen and graduated from the Catholic Cantonal Secondary School (KKSS). From 1998 to 2004 he studied law at the University of St. Gallen . After completing his studies, he worked in a law firm in St. Gallen and was admitted to the bar in 2007. From 2010 to 2014 he worked as the department secretary of the health and social department of the canton of Appenzell Innerrhoden . He is married to Karin Christensen Würmli and lives in Zug.

Politics and functions

Between 2010 and 2014, Würmli was a member of the city parliament in St. Gallen and at the same time president of the CVP in the canton of St. Gallen . He exercised and continues to exercise various functions, such as a part-time judge in the Administrative Appeals Commission, as a board member of the Touring Club Switzerland (TCS) and on the political advisory board of FC St. Gallen . On several occasions he was in conversation as a member of the executive branch. In January 2018, the government of the canton of St. Gallen proposed Würmli to the cantonal council for election as the board of directors of the hospital associations of the canton of St. Gallen.
