Martina Hannen (born March 6, 1970 in Mönchengladbach ) is a German lawyer and politician of the Free Democratic Party (FDP) from Lage (Lippe) . She has been a member of the North Rhine-Westphalian state parliament since June 1, 2017 . She is also the spokeswoman for the FDP parliamentary group for school-based vocational and further training.

Life

Hannen grew up in Viersen and Lage (Lippe) and, after graduating from high school, studied law with a focus on European, commercial and contract law at the Westphalian Wilhelms University in Münster .

Political career

Hannen has been a member of the FDP since 2001. She ran for the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia in the state elections in 2012 in the Lippe I state electoral district and received 5.0% of the first votes and 8.7% of the second votes. After the state elections on May 14, 2017 , she moved into the state parliament at number 24 on the list, which she was accidentally assigned. The delegate assembly had chosen her in 48th place; When creating the list, the list positions were accidentally swapped.

In this state election she received 9.3% of the first votes and 12.5% ​​of the second votes. She later withdrew the previously announced waiver of the mandate due to the mix-up of the list position.

In addition to her membership in the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia, Hannen has been the parliamentary group leader of the FDP in the City Council of Lage and deputy chairwoman of the city association since 2004. She is a member of the Lippe FDP district parliamentary group and chairwoman of the Liberal Women Ostwestfalen-Lippe. Hannen also supports the city of Lage as chairwoman of the Fairtrade Steering Committee. In February 2019 it became known that Hannen had been nominated as candidate for mayor of the FDP Lage. However, she could not imagine a double mandate situation. In the mayoral election of the city of Lage on May 26, 2019, she received 16.31% of the vote, but this was not enough to make it into the runoff election.

Hannen has been a member of the St. Georg Viersen Scouting Association since 1983. She is the deputy chairman of the association "pro infantibus - help for mothers and children in Romania".
