Maruwan Ôike ( Japanese 丸 湾 大 池 'round bay, large lake' ; Norwegian Hettevatnet ) is a small lake on the Prince Harald Coast of the East Antarctic Queen Maud Land . It is located on the Rundvågshetta headland on the southeastern bank of the Lützow-Holm Bay .
Aerial photographs and measurements as part of Japanese Antarctic expeditions between 1971 and 1975 were used to map it. Japanese scientists named it in 1988 based on the name of the neighboring bay Rundvåg . Scientists from the Norwegian Polar Institute , however, named it in 1989 based on the name of the headland on which it is located.
