Marv Studios , formerly Marv Films (also known as Marv or MARV ) is a British film production company owned by Matthew Vaughn . Marv Films is best known for the films Der Sternwanderer , Kick-Ass and X-Men: First Decision .

history

Marv was founded in 2003 by Matthew Vaughn. With the help of this production company, Vaughn made his directorial debut Layer Cake with Daniel Craig in the lead role. In 2007 Vaughn wrote the screenplay and directed Der Sternwanderer . The film's executive producer , Kris Thykier, joined Marv Films in early 2007 . The film grossed $ 140 million worldwide and was partly funded by Paramount Pictures . A three-year contract was then signed with Sony Pictures Entertainment . Vaughn said he wanted to fund around two to three British productions for less than $ 25 million a year in the future. In 2009, Thykier and Vaughn jointly produced Harry Brown and An Open Account , whose screenplay was also written by Vaughn. The film Kick-Ass , which was released in 2010, was again produced by Thykier and Vaughn. Vaughn wrote the script and directed it again. Vaughn also wrote and directed the film X-Men: First Choice , but Thykier was not part of the production.
