Mary Bain
Mary Bain (born August 8, 1904 in Hungary, † October 26, 1972 in New York City ) was an American chess player .
Mary Bain was fifth out of 26 participants in the title fight for the women's world chess championship in Stockholm in 1937, and in the 1952 candidates' tournament in Moscow for the women's world chess championship in 1953 , she finished 14th out of 16 participants.
In 1951, Bain became the US national women's champion. In 1952 she received the title of International Women's Champion (WIM) from the World Chess Federation . In 1963 she took part in the Women's Chess Olympiad with the USA .
