Mary Gentle

Mary Rosalyn Gentle (* 1956 in Sussex , England ) is a British writer who writes in the genres of fantasy and science fiction .

Mary Gentle was born in Sussex in 1956. When she left school at the age of 16, she worked in various sideline jobs before becoming a freelance writer in 1979. In 1981 she studied Political Science , English and Geography at Bournemouth University and then English and History at Goldsmiths College . After successfully completing her studies, she did her Masters at Kings College in 1995 in the field of war science . Gentle lives in Stevenage with her partner Dean Wayland .
