Mary Schneider
Mary Schneider (born October 25, 1932 in Rockhampton , Queensland ) is an Australian singer with German roots who became internationally known for her yodelling interpretations of classical music .

Mary Schneider was born as the youngest child in a musical family, where she learned to play the ukulele and yodel at a very early age. As a teenager, she and her sister Rita formed a country duo that had been successful throughout Australia for many years . Later she worked as a soloist as a country and jazz interpreter and was awarded five Mo Awards ; their records have sold over 250,000 copies in Australia alone. In the 1980s, Schneider recorded her first record with yodeled classical music, which received wide international resonance. Their music has been used for films such as Eine wüsten Bescherung and series such as Sex and the Cityused. Schneider appeared on the British comedy show Eurotrash and at Expo 2000 alongside José Carreras and Sir Peter Ustinov . Her daughter Melinda (born October 7, 1971) works as a country musician.
