Maryam Myika Day

Maryam Myika Day (born October 3, 1975 in New York City , New York ) is an American actress , film producer and screenwriter .

Life

The African American Day grew up in Harlem . She made her debut as an actress in the television drama One Life to Live from 1994. From 2001 to 2005 she appeared on Broadway in the musical 42nd Street , which also gave her an appearance on the television program The Lullaby of Broadway: Opening Night on 42nd Street ( 2001) secured. In the film drama Lavender: An Adaptation (2005) she took on the lead role, she also wrote the script and co-produced the film. She also produced several episodes of the 2006 television series Real Moms, Real Stories, Real Savvy and helped produce the documentary Black Sorority Project: The Exodus (2006). In March 2006 she took on one of the leading roles in the play Offspring .

She played one of the bigger roles in the drama Lifted , which had its world premiere in August 2007 at the Roxbury Film Festival . In the comedy Noise! (2007) she appeared on the side of Tim Robbins as a television reporter.
