Masaaki Furukawa ( Japanese 古 川 昌明 , Furukawa Masaaki ; born August 28, 1968 in Chiba Prefecture ) is a former Japanese football player .
Career
Furukawa learned to play soccer on the school team at Ichihara Midori High School . He signed his first contract with Honda FC in 1989 . The club played in the highest league in the country, the Japan Soccer League . In 1990 he moved to Honda Luminozo Sayama FC . In 1992 he moved to the first division club Kashima Antlers . In September 1998 he was loaned to the first division club Avispa Fukuoka . In 1999 he returned to the Kashima Antlers. With them he became Japanese champions in 1996, 1998 and 2000 . For the club he completed 125 first division games. At the end of 2000 he ended his career as a soccer player.
