Masahiro Shimoda ( Japanese 霜 田 正浩 Shimoda Masahiro ; born February 10, 1967 in Toshima ) is a former Japanese football player and coach.

Career

Shimoda learned to play soccer on the school team at Takashima High School . He signed his first contract with Fujita Industries in 1988 . In 1988 he reached the final of the Kaiser Cup . He then played with Kyoto Shiko and Yokogawa Electric . At the end of 1993 he ended his career as a football player.

In 1994 Shimoda became an assistant trainer at Otsuka Pharmaceutical . In 1997 he switched to Kyoto Purple Sanga . In 2001 he moved to FC Tokyo . In November 2006 he moved to YSCC Yokohama . In 2007 he moved to JEF United Chiba . From 2012 to 2013 Shimoda coached the U-20 junior national team . In August 2017 Shimoda became assistant coach at VV St. Truiden . In 201 Shimoda became the coach of Renofa Yamaguchi FC .
