Masaki Kanō

Masaki Kanō ( Japanese 加納 政 樹 , Kanō Masaki ; born February 4, 1976 in Hyōgo Prefecture ) is a Japanese racing car driver . From 2008 to 2011 he took part in individual races of the World Touring Car Championship (WTCC).

Career

Kanō began his motorsport career in karting in 1991 , where he was active until 1994. In 1995 he took part in the Winfield Racing School in France.

He has been active in touring car racing since 2006 . He finished ninth in the Japanese Super Taikyu Series that year. In 2007 he improved to third place in this series. In addition, Kanō was runner-up in the Asian Touring Car Championship this season . In 2008 he stayed in the Asian Touring Car Championship and finished the season in third place in the drivers' championship.

From 2008 to 2011 Kanō took part in at least one World Touring Car Championship (WTCC) for Engstler Motorsport . Only in his debut season did he take part in two racing weekends. Twelfth place was his best individual placement.

Kanō is married and has two daughters.
