Masayoshi Haneda ( Japanese羽 田昌義Haneda Masayoshi , born November 13, 1976 in Chiyoda , Tokyo Prefecture ) is a Japanese film and theater actor .

life and career

Masayoshi Haneda decided to pursue an acting career at a young age. From 1999 to 2000 he visited the United Performers' Studio in Tokyo , with which he appeared on stage in numerous pieces, for example by Yoko Narahashi . After graduating, he continued to take part in acting workshops, including in New York City . In 2003 he was hired as a stunt actor for the film Last Samurai .

He took on his first acting role in front of the camera in 2002 with a role in the film The Last Campaign of the Samurai . After several appearances in Japanese films, including House of Dead , Godzilla: Final Wars and Memories of Matsuko , he was able to take part in internationally successful productions over time. In 2006 he played a small supporting role in the German-French-Indian-Japanese-Swiss independent film adaptation Valley of Flowers , which was shown in the programs of numerous film festivals after its release. In 2008 Haneda was seen in the American-Japanese comedy The Ramen Girl in the role of Yuki . 2012 followed as Takahashi a small role in the film Emperor - Fight for Peace . In 2013 he played the supporting role of samurai Yasuno in 47 Ronin .

In 2014 Haneda played the role of Takeda in the military science fiction film Edge of Tomorrow . 2018 he took over in the second season of HBO - thriller series Westworld the role of Tanaka .

Private

During a stage appearance in 2007, Haneda met the singer-songwriter Hitomi Furuya , who is known by her stage name Hitomi . They were married on July 11, 2008. They divorced in 2011 after living apart for six months.
