Mascotelos is a place and a former municipality ( freguesia ) in northern Portugal .
Mascotelos belongs to the district and town of Guimarães in the Braga district . The community had an area of 1.26 km² and 1628 inhabitants (as of June 30, 2011).
On September 29, 2013, the parishes of Mascotelos and Candoso (Santiago) merged to form the new parish União das Freguesias de Candoso São Tiago e Mascotelos .
