Massachusetts Avenue is the name of a subway station owned by the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) in Boston in the state of Massachusetts in the United States . It provides access to the subway line Orange Line .
history
The station opened on May 4, 1987 as part of the renovation and relocation of the Orange Line parallel to the Northeast Corridor .

The subway station is located in downtown Boston at 380 Massachusetts Avenue . The building is completely barrier-free .
As part of the MBTA's Arts on the Line project, two granite monuments (“My Robe” by Peter Rodman and “Drum” by Sharon Cox ) with engraved texts were installed outside the station .
environment
There is a connection to two MBTA bus lines at the station. Nearby are Symphony Hall , the Jordan Hall of the New England Conservatory , Northeastern University and the Matthews Arena .
