Massimo Ganci (born November 17, 1981 in Milan ) is an Italian football player who has been under contract with Pescara Calcio in the Lega Pro Prima Divisione since summer 2009 .
Career
Massimo Ganci began his career in 1998 with the then second division club AC Monza Brianza . He made his professional debut for Monza on March 12, 2000 in the away game at Brescia Calcio . In the 2000/01 season he made the leap to a regular at Monza when he played 25 Serie B games and scored seven goals. At the end of the season, he was relegated to the third-class C1 series with just 31 points . Although Ganci was able to score nine goals for the team in the league, Monza fell one step lower in the following season and had to move into the fourth-highest division. The attacker then decided to leave the club and sign a contract with FBC Treviso . In the following two years he managed to improve his goal yield and with 15 goals this season in the 2003/04 season to help Treviso to stay in Serie B.
In the summer of 2004 he finally moved to Serie A promoted Reggina Calcio . The striker received ten appearances in the top division, but acted without luck and left the club after a few months without having scored a single goal for the team. He found a new employer at the second division club Piacenza Calcio . Ganci failed to match his previous performances at Monza and Treviso and fell far short of expectations with just four goals in 40 games. In January 2006 he was sold to the league competitor AS Bari . By the end of the season he had three goals in 13 games and was back in shape. After he had managed six goals in the 2006/07 season , he was subsequently unsuccessful in 25 league games for Bari. In the summer of 2008, the attacker signed with AS Cittadella .
There it only lasted a few months and Ganci transferred again within Serie B to Salernitana Calcio . For the southern Italians, he made five goals in the last seven games of the 2008/09 season for relegation.
Shortly afterwards, he agreed on a transfer with the Abruzzo club Pescara Calcio and joined the third division. On September 6, 2009 he made his debut for Pescara in the away game with the SS Virtus Lanciano when he was substituted on after 60 minutes. Three game days later he scored his first goal for Pescara against AS Andria BAT , which was also the 1-0 winner for the team from Abruzzo .
In the play-offs for promotion to Serie B he scored a total of three goals in four games against AC Reggiana and Hellas Verona and thus helped Pescara to return to the second highest division after three years.
