Mario Stevens (born July 2, 1982 ) is a German show jumper .

Mario Stevens grew up as the son of parents who were passionate about horses and equestrian sports. He started riding several times after attending the local horse show, but did not stay with the horse until the fourth attempt. After completing his school career, he trained as an office clerk in his parents' delicatessen store . At the age of eighteen, with the help of his parents, he became the owner of his own training and trading stable in his native Molbergen and has been a professional rider ever since.

As part of his equestrian training, Stevens rode in both show jumping and dressage tests, although show jumping was always the focus. He trained with Gilbert Böckmann for six years , then with the then national trainer of the German show jumping rider Kurt Gravemeier . Since then he has been training with Ludger Beerbaum , and he is supported by Heinrich-Hermann Engemann , the disciplinary trainer of the German show jumpers and trainer of the perspective group show jumping .

Even as a young rider he was able to record important successes (2002 German Young Rider Champion, 2003 European Young Rider Team Champion). A significant career boost took place at Stevens after he had the opportunity, with the help of Ludger Beerbaum , to take over the 2004 Olympic horse from Rolf-Göran Bengtsson , Mac Kinley . After a fourth place at the German Show Jumping Championships (age group "Rider"), he was given the opportunity to take part in the 2008 CHIO Aachen . From March 2009 he belonged to the newly formed perspective group show jumping. At the end of 2009 / beginning of 2010 he won four grand prizes within three months.

In January 2013 he was chosen to be one of the active speakers for the show jumping riders. At the German Championships in 2018 Stevens was first in the age group "tab" German master , he rode here Talisman de Mazure .

Mario Stevens was a member of the perspective team (formerly B-team) of the German show jumping riders in 2018.
