Descotte, who started tennis at the age of five, played his first tournaments on the professional tour in 2012. There he played only tournaments on the third-class ITF Future Tour in the first years of his career . He won his first title in 2014 in doubles, making him one of the top 800 in the world in the world rankings . He also steadily improved his position in the individual and was also listed among the top 800 players. It premiered on the ATP Challenger Tour in 2017 in Medellín . At the side of Gonzalo Villanueva he won his opening game and then failed because of the top seeded pairing Nicolás Jarry and Roberto Quiroz .
Descotte made his breakthrough on the Future Tour in 2018. He won four singles and three doubles titles and achieved his career best in doubles with rank 291 and in singles with 312nd place. On the Challenger Tour he was in his first double final in Segovia . After always failing to qualify in singles, he made his debut in Punta del Este in 2019 . A month later, he achieved his greatest success to date. In Morelos he defeated Gonzalo Escobar in straight sets and won his first title at Challenger level.
