Georgi Ivanov Jovchev
Georgi Ivanov Jowtschew ( Bulgarian Георги Иванов Йовчев ; born May 9, 1950 in Rakovski ) is bishop of Sofia and Plovdiv .
Life
He was ordained a priest on May 9, 1976. On July 6, 1988, John Paul II appointed him Apostolic Administrator of Sofia and Plovdiv and Titular Bishop of Lamphua .
The episcopal ordination on 31 July 1988 gave him the apostolic nuncio in Poland , Francesco Colasuonno ; Co- consecrators were Samuel Serafimow Djoundrine AA , Bishop of Nicopolis , and Metodi Dimitrov Stratiev AA, Apostolic Exarch of Sofia .
On November 13, 1995, the Pope appointed him Bishop of Sofia and Plovdiv.
