Matías Santos , full name Matías Joaquín Santos Arostegui , (born March 11, 1994 in Montevideo ) is a Uruguayan football player .

Career

According to his club, midfielder Santos, who is 1.78 meters tall, comes from the youth of the Montevideo Wanderers. He has been in the squad of the first division Montevideo Wanderers since at least the Apertura 2012 . For the Montevideans he played nine or ten games in the Primera División until the end of the 2012/13 season, depending on the sources, and scored one goal. In the 2013/14 season he played 24 top division games (four goals). On April 20, 2014, he tore a cruciate ligament while meeting Rentistas . In the 2014/15 season he was used 13 times (two goals) in the league and six times (three goals) in the 2015 Copa Libertadores . This was followed by a further 24 first division appearances and four goals in the 2015/16 season. In the 2016 season he played 15 league games (five goals) and six games (two goals) in the 2016 Copa Sudamericana . During the current 2017 season he has been used in 20 first division games (no goal) and four games (one goal) of the Copa Libertadores 2017 (as of August 7, 2017) .

National team

On May 19, 2015, he was nominated by coach Fabián Coito for the provisional squad of the U-22, which will compete in July 2015 at the Pan American Games 2015 in Toronto .
