Matías Sborowitz (born July 9, 1993 in Santiago de Chile ) is a Chilean tennis player .

Career

Sborowitz already played on the Junior Tour between 2008 and 2011, where he reached 15th place in the youth world rankings.

From 2008 he played future tournaments and in 2009 in Quito his first tournament on the ATP Challenger Tour . It was not until 2011 that he made it into a future semifinal, which gave him his first points for the world rankings and was henceforth placed in the top 1000. Until 2014 he managed to hold his position between 600 and 1000, but did not make a breakthrough. In 2012 he also made his only appearance on the ATP World Tour in Viña del Mar at the VTR Open in doubles thanks to a wildcard . At the side of Gonzalo Lama he lost clearly in the first round against David Marrero and Pere Riba . In 2014 he achieved a significant increase. He reached four finals in futures tournaments, of which he won two. As a result, he improved in the world rankings up to his highest ranking of 456th. He played his last tournament at the end of December 2014 in Chile. He has not played a tournament since then and has not been in the world rankings since the end of 2015.
