Matalbaniega is a Spanish town in the province of Palencia in the autonomous community of Castile and León . The villages Corvio , Cenera de Zalima , Quintanilla de Corvio and Villanueva del Río belonged to the formerly independent municipality . Some of these came to Aguilar de Campoo with Matalbaniega in the 1970s . Matalbaniega is located seven kilometers north of the main town of the municipality.
Attractions
- The Romanesque parish church of San Martín , classified as a historical monument ( Bien de Interés Cultural ) since 1993 , was built at the end of the 12th century. The church, located outside the village, belonged to a former monastery.
