Mate Bilić (born October 23, 1980 in Split ) is a former Croatian football player. He was most recently under contract with the Croatian first division club RNK Split .
He began his career in 1997 with the traditional Croatian club HNK Hajduk Split , with whom he became Croatian champions in the 2000/01 season.
In 2001 he moved to Real Saragossa in the Spanish Primera Division . A year later he moved to the Segunda División to UD Almería and then to Sporting Gijón . In 2004 he signed with FC Córdoba . A year later he was in the squad of UE Lleida . There he was able to score 17 hits.
In June 2006 he decided to move to the Austrian Bundesliga and signed a contract with the record champions SK Rapid Vienna until 2008.
In December 2007, however, Bilić moved back prematurely to Sporting Gijón , where he made a decisive contribution to promotion with his goals.
