Mate Palhegyi

Mate Palhegyi (* 1975 ) is a Hungarian concert flutist , chamber musician and university professor . He appears regularly in well-known concert halls and at festivals across Europe.

Life

Palhegyi grew up in Budapest. He studied first at the Weiner Leo Conservatory, then at the Conservatory of the University of Szeged and graduated with a teaching diploma in 2000. He then went to the Franz Liszt Music Academy, where he received the concert diploma for chamber music in 2002. He then studied at the Institute of Musicology at the University of Pécs and received his master's degree as well as the concert and teaching diploma in 2006. In 1999 he also attended a master class with Reinhard Goebel at the Barock Akademie Attersee.

He has been a member of the "Hungarica Ensemble" since 2001, of the "Free Style Chamber Orchestra" since 2006, member and soloist of the "Aura Musicale" chamber orchestra since 2009 and artistic director of the "By Heart Quartet" since 2010 Until 2013 member of the chamber orchestra "Capella Savaria" and from 2007 to 2010 artistic director of the "Szülök Háza Cultural Center".

From 2002 to 2007 he was Professor of Flute at the Weiner Conservatory in Budapest and is currently Professor of Chamber Music at the Ward Conservatory in Budapest and Honorary Professor at the Franz Liszt Music Academy . In addition, he gives master classes and gives lessons in Vienna .

Palhegyi is married, has three children and lives in Vienna.

repertoire

Palhegyi plays both modern and historical baroque and classical flutes . His repertoire includes early music , romantic music , music of Impressionism and various jazz investment styles. In addition to the classical program, he also plays improvisations in his concerts .
