Mathias Löder

Mathias Löder (born December 29, 1933 in Cologne-Deutz ) is a former German cyclist .

As a member of the German racing team Altenburger, Löder competed in professional road races from 1956 , but did not achieve any results worth mentioning. In 1957 he moved to the German team Fichtel & Sachs , where he met the former German champion Walter Becker . The first successes came, a second place in a Munich criterion and two third places in the road races GP Veith and GP Fichtel & Sachs. Löder also took part in the Belgian classic Liège – Bastogne – Liège , where he was among 27 placed drivers 14th place reached. From 1958 Löder's cycling team traded under the name Torpedo , he contested his only world championship race that year and was the 26th of the race last. In 1959 he was only listed in the results lists at the Belgian one-day race La Flèche Wallonne , among 62 classified athletes he came in 43rd as the best of four Germans. In early 1960 he moved back to the amateurs camp and started for the RC Adler Cologne club. Löder achieved his first victory after the change in a major race in 1960 at the Rund um Köln , in 1962 and 1963 he won the Cologne – Schuld – Frechen road race .
