Colletorto is an Italian commune ( comune ) with 1779 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the province of Campobasso in Molise . The municipality is located about 23 kilometers east-northeast of Campobasso . The Fortore forms the southeastern municipal boundary.

history

In 1273 the place is mentioned for the first time in a letter from Pope Bonifazius VIII. In 1320 the place reappears as collis tortus .
