Limosano is an Italian commune ( comune ) with 718 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the province of Campobasso in the Molise region . The municipality is located about 13 kilometers north-northwest of Campobasso . The south-eastern border is formed by the Biferno .
history
Until the 12th century Limosano was the seat of a bishop. However, only two bishops are attested in the years 1110 and 1153, since the Diocese of Limosano became part of the Archdiocese of Benevento in the 12th century . In February 2018 the diocese was restored as the titular diocese of Limosano .
