Termoli [ ˈtɛrmoli ] is a town with 33,410 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the province of Campobasso in the Molise region .

The neighboring municipalities are: Campomarino , Guglionesi , Petacciato , Portocannone and San Giacomo degli Schiavoni .

Termoli is the seat of the Catholic diocese of Termoli-Larino .

Attractions

The old town district of Borgo Vecchio lies on a promontory protruding into the sea. The old town is dominated by a Staufer fort, which was later redesigned in the Aragonese style. The most important attraction of the old town is the Romanesque cathedral with very elaborate figural work.

Sports

The football club US Termoli currently plays in the Eccellenza , the fifth highest (or the sixth highest, counting the series C1 and C2 as independent leagues). 2005/06 they missed promotion to Serie D by one goal.
