Montecilfone (in Arbëresh : Munxhufuni ) is an Italian municipality ( comune ) with 1274 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the province of Campobasso in Molise . The municipality is located about 40.5 kilometers north-northeast of Campobasso .

history

Albanian emigrants settled in the municipality in the Middle Ages. Therefore, an old Tuscan-Albanian dialect is still spoken in the community today.
