Mathias Rocher

Mathias Rocher (born September 30, 1989 in Rostock ) is a German rower .

Sports career

Rocher took second place in the four without a helmsman at the Junior World Championships in 2006 . At the Junior World Championships in 2007 he also won silver in a single . In 2008 he won the U23 world regatta in a double foursome . In his first season of competition in the adult class, Rocher competed in the 2009 World Cup regatta in Munich together with Tim Bartels in a double scull and finished third. At the World Cup regatta in Lucerne, Rocher rowed to fourth place in a single. He also competed in the 2009 World Rowing Championships and took fifth place. In 2010 Rocher was in the German quadruple, two second places in the World Cup were followed by fourth places at the European Championships and the World Championships .

Mathias Rocher rowed for SC Magdeburg . At the German championships in 2010 he won the bronze medal behind Marcel Hacker and Eric Knittel .

Rocher ended his competitive sports career in January 2013 after a herniated disc . Since 2015 he has been training the Juniors B in the rowing club Alt-Werder Magdeburg .
