Mathieu Martinez (born May 26, 1982 in Gérardmer ) is a former French Nordic combined athlete .

Martinez made his international debut in 2001 in the Nordic Combined B World Cup. At the Junior World Championships in Schonach in the Black Forest in 2002 , he won the silver medal in the team mass start and was sixth in the Gundersen competition. On March 1st, 2002 he made his debut in the Nordic Combined World Cup in Lahti . Two days later in Lahti, with 8th place, he made it into the top ten for the first time. In the following season 2002/03 he managed a further increase in performance. He finished the season as the most successful of his career in 25th place in the overall World Cup standings. In the Sprint World Cup overall ranking, he reached 34th place. At the Nordic World Ski Championships in 2003 in Val di Fiemme , he came in seventh place with the team. He finished the Gundersen competition in 23rd place, in the sprint he finished 18th. In the following years he regularly achieved the points, but successes or placements on the podium did not materialize. Only in the B World Cup, in which he started at the same time, did he achieve podium placements and victories. At the 2005 World Championships in Oberstdorf , he was 20th in the sprint. At the Nordic World Ski Championships 2007 in Sapporo , he reached 6th place with the team. Martinez finished 28th in Gundersen and 22nd in sprint. After the 2007/08 season Martinez ended his active career.

Martinez is married and now lives in Xonrupt-Longemer .
