The Matt's Place Drive-In is a monument and drive-in restaurant in Butte in Silver Bow County , Montana .
Building description
The two-story building was designed in the style of the American Arts and Crafts Movement and has an irregular floor plan . The front facade, fixed by a crossed gable, is oriented towards the east towards the street and has a length of three window axes , with the northern one standing back. The width of the Matt's Place drive-in is two window axes. The roof consists of two crossing gable roofs . Some of the furnishings and interior furnishings are still in their original condition, such as the horseshoe-shaped shop counter or the neon advertising . The built-in furnishings are chrome-plated and date from the 1950s.
history
In 1930, the Matt's Place Drive-In to a core structure, one has outbuildings , around erected. This had been placed at this point the year before and was originally on a neighboring property. A north and south wing were later added to the Matt's Place drive-in. It was one of the first drive-through restaurants in Montana.
Matt's Place Drive-In was added to the National Register of Historic Places on March 29, 2001 .
