Matt Gorman (born March 2, 1978 in Smiths Falls , Ontario ) is a retired Canadian ice hockey player .

Career

The striker Matt Gorman played between 1996 and 1999 for the Bow Valley Eagles and the Fort Saskatchewan Traders in the Alberta Junior Hockey League . In the 1998/99 season he scored 61 goals in 62 games in the Traders' jersey. He then turned pro and played successively with the Huntsville Channel Cats in the Central Hockey League (CHL), the Fort Worth Brahmas in the Western Professional Hockey League and Indianapolis Ice in the CHL.

During the 2001/02 season Gorman went to Germany and briefly joined the upper division club Deggendorfer EC before moving to the regional division TSV Peißenberg . In the 2002/03 season Matt Gorman played for the Herford EC in the Regionalliga West and scored 49 goals in 34 games. Then Gorman moved to HC Neumarkt in the Italian elite league Serie A and moved to league rivals HC Eppan for the 2004/05 season .

From 2005 to 2007 Matt Gorman still played for the Italian second division club SG Pontebba , before running for another year for the German upper division Tölzer Löwen in the 2007/08 season.
