From 1960 to 1993 Donald Hamilton published 27 novels about Matt Helm.
Film series
In the 1960s , four films were made with Dean Martin in the title role:
- 1966: The guns whisper softly - Director: Phil Karlson
- 1966: The Murderers Stand In Line - Director: Henry Levin
- 1967: When killers lie in wait - Director: Henry Levin
- 1968: Rollkommando - Director: Phil Karlson
Many other stars were won for supporting roles, including Stella Stevens , Daliah Lavi , Karl Malden , Ann-Margret , Senta Berger , Sharon Tate and Elke Sommer . In the last of these films, Bruce Lee choreographed the fight scenes.
Television series
In 1975 there was a television series called Matt Helm - In the Jungle of the Big City with Anthony Franciosa , which was even further removed from Hamilton's books than the films, as Matt Helm gave up his work as a secret agent here to become a detective instead.
