Matt Madden
Matt Madden (* 1968 in New York City ) is an American comic artist . His experimental comic 99 Ways to Tell a Story: Exercises in Style is based on Raymond Queneau's style exercises . Madden teaches illustration at the School of Visual Arts in Yale .
biography
Madden first published minicomics in Ann Arbor , Michigan . He was co-editor of the anthology 5 O'Clock Shadow . After some of his shorter work appeared in anthologies, Madden's first volume, Black Candy , followed in 1998 with Black Eye Books . In the 1990s, Madden wrote for The Comics Journal and other publications. His graphic novel Odds Off was published by Highwater Books . He lived in Mexico in the late 1990s , a subject that also appears in his work. Today he lives in Brooklyn , New York with his wife, cartoonist Jessica Abel .
