Matterhorn Peak is a 4,142 m high mountain peak in Hinsdale County in the US state of Colorado . It is located in the San Juan Mountains . The mountaintop is entirely within the Uncompahgre National Forest and the Uncompahgre Wilderness . It should not be confused with Matterhorn Peak in the US state of California .
