Matthew Karnitschnig

Matthew Helmut Karnitschnig (* 1972 ) is an American journalist .

Life

Karnitschnig received his bachelor's degree from Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia and his master's degree from Columbia University . His journalistic work began with the Kinston Free Press in North Carolina . He was then a reporter and editor for Bloomberg , Reuters and Business Week.

He then moved to the Wall Street Journal , where he became Chief Mergers & Acquisitions Reporter. In 2009, Karnitschnig became the German office manager for the Wall Street Journal based in Berlin.

With the start of Politico .eu in April 2015, he became head of Politico's Germany office.
