Matthew Rotherham (born December 7, 1994 in Bolton ) is a British cyclist and paracycling pilot.
Athletic career
At the age of 16, Matthew Rotherham became the British elite 1000 meter time trial champion . In the juniors he won the title in the same discipline and in the keirin . The following year he was in Portugal Sangalhos European Junior Champion in the time trial and won silver in the sprint and keirin.
As of 2017, Rotherham was mainly active in paracycling. In 2017 he became world champion in sprint and time trial as a tandem pilot for James Ball . In 2018 he won with Neil Fachie in these two disciplines at the Commonwealth Games , as well as at the World Railroad Championships in the same year. The Para-cycling track world championships in 2019 in the Dutch Apeldoorn won Rotherham and Fachie gold in the sprint and silver in the time trial.
In 2019 Rotherham was again British time trial champion.
