The Paracycling World Track Championships were held for the second time since 2015 in Apeldoorn. The organization of the world championships was headed by the former track cyclist Teun Mulder . Omnien for women and men were held as test competitions . Around 250 athletes from 37 nations were registered.
On the first day of the competition, Australians Paige Greco set a new world record in qualifying for the women's 3,000-meter single pursuit (C3) with 4: 00.20 minutes. A new world record was also set in the men's pursuit qualification (C1): Ricardo Ten from Spain needed 3: 50.05 for 3000 meters. New world records were also set on the second day of the World Championship: In the 500 meter time trial (C2), Australian Amanda Reid set a time of 39.505 seconds, Greco (C3) a time of 39.442. The Chinese Zhang Li improved his own world record over 1000 to 1: 11.817 minutes. Over 1000 meters of the men (C2) the existing world record was improved twice, first by the Australian Gordon Hall (1: 12.873), then again by the Colombian Alejandro Perea (1: 12.838). As part of the Omnium test event, two new records were set over 200 meters (flying start): Greco (C3) drove 13.250, the Dutch Caroline Groot (C5) 12.070, a few minutes after the British Sarah Storey had set a new personal best. Ricardo Ten (C1) from Spain also set a record with 12.69 seconds.
On the third day of the World Championships, the previous world record holder from Australia, Emily Petricola , improved her own record to 3: 53.297 minutes in the qualification for the 3,000-meter single pursuit (C4) and was ten seconds faster in the final with 3: 43.620 and got hers Counterparty Kelly Shaw .
