Pierre Senska (born June 21, 1988 in Berlin ) is a German disabled cyclist who starts in class C1.

Athletic career

From birth, Pierre Senska suffered from muscle wasting in the lower legs , resulting in stiff ankles. When he was 14 years old, a doctor recommended that he do sports for therapy. He has been a competitive cyclist since 2001.

Since then, Senska, a trained wholesale and foreign trade clerk, has been world champion seven times, in 2006 on the track with Mario Hammer in the team sprint and in 2007, 2009, 2014 , 2015 , 2017 and 2018 world champion in road races . In 2008 he started at the Summer Paralympics in Beijing and finished fifth in the team sprint and sixth in the individual time trial on the road .

At the UCI Paracycling Road World Championships 2019 , Senska was runner-up in road racing.

Honors

In 2007, Pierre Senska was named Junior Sportsman of the Year in the field of disabled sports by the German Sports Aid Foundation .
