UCI Paracycling World Track Championships 2016

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The UCI Para-cycling Track World Championships 2016 were from 17 to 20 March at the Italian Montichiari in the local Velodromo Fassa Bortolo instead. This is the second time since 2011 that the Paracycling World Championships have been held in this cycling track.

The World Championships were originally awarded to Pietermaritzburg in South Africa by the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) . However, the part of the athletes, there was sharp criticism: The velodrome Sax Young cycling track in Pietermaritzburg is open and 463 meters long (default is 250 meters in length), this was "sub-standard". These are bad conditions for world championships, which served as qualifications for the 2016 Summer Paralympics in Rio de Janeiro .
