Thomas Schäfer (born November 15, 1980 in Wernigerode ) is a German paracycler who competes in category C4.

Athletic career

Thomas Schäfer has malformations on his left lower leg and right foot. In 2014 he competed for the first time at the UCI Paracycling World Track Championships and finished sixth in the team sprint . The following year he was sixth in road races and individual time trials at the UCI Paracycling Road World Championships . At the UCI Paracycling World Track Championships in 2016 , he finished tenth in the team sprint.

In the same year Schäfer started at the Summer Paralympics in Rio de Janeiro . He fell in the road race and finished twelfth, in the individual time trial he was seventh.

At the 2017 UCI Paracycling Road World Championships , he finished fifth in the road race and tenth in the individual time trial.
