Matthias Brauner

Matthias Brauner (born June 16, 1974 in Bad Nauheim , Hesse ) is a German CDU politician . He was a member of the Berlin House of Representatives from 1999 to 2001 and from 2006 to 2016 .

Professional background

education

Matthias Brauner graduated from the Carl-Friedrich-Siemens-Gymnasium in Berlin-Siemensstadt in 1993 and then did his military service with the Jägerbataillon 1 Berlin. From 1994 to 1997 he studied business administration at the Berufsakademie Berlin . 1998 followed by the year 2000 an MBA course in the German-British course at the Anglia Polytechnic University , Cambridge / Chelmsford and at the University of Applied Sciences , Berlin .

Career history

From 1997 to 2002 Matthias Brauner was a corporate account manager at Landesbank Berlin , and from 2002 to 2011 management consultant at the Sparkasse consulting firm NordOst. Since January 2012 he has been regional director and head of the Berlin representative office of WL BANK AG Westfälische Landschaft Bodenkreditbank.

Political functions

Student Union and Young Union

Matthias Brauner has been a member of the CDU since 1993 and has held various functions as a board member of the Berliner Schüler Union and the Junge Union . From 1993 to 1995 he was district chairman of the Berliner Schüler Union and from 1997 to 1999 district chairman of the Junge Union Spandau.

CDU Spandau and CDU Siemensstadt

Since 1994 Matthias Brauner has held various functions as a board member of the Siemensstadt local association and the Spandau district association. Since 1999 he has been treasurer of the CDU Spandau and since 2005 also chairman of the CDU Siemensstadt.

BVV

From 1995 to 1999 Matthias Brauner was citizens' deputy in the committee for economic and real estate issues of the Spandau district council .

CDU Berlin

From 2002 to 2003 Matthias Brauner was a member of the state executive committee of the Berlin CDU.

Berlin House of Representatives

In December 1999, Matthias Brauner replaced the resigned Carsten-Michael Röding via the Spandau district list in the House of Representatives and held the mandate until the end of the 14th parliamentary term in 2001. During this time he was a member of the main committee.

In 2006 and 2011 Matthias Brauner won another mandate on the Spandau district list. In the 16th electoral term from 2006 to 2011 he was a member of the Main Committee, the Assets Subcommittee and the Construction and Housing Committee. In addition, from March 2009 to December 2011 he was the spokesman for the young group of the CDU parliamentary group, to which all members of the CDU belong who were not yet 35 when they were elected. From 2010 to 2016 he was the building and housing policy spokesman for the CDU parliamentary group in Berlin. At the same time, he was also a working group leader for the topics of building, housing, transport, urban development and the environment. From 2011 to 2016 he was also a member of the parliamentary committee of the CDU parliamentary group in the Berlin House of Representatives. Matthias Brauner was actively involved in the coalition negotiations between the SPD and CDU in 2011, he sat in the working groups for finance and urban development. As MdA in the 17th electoral term from 2011 to 2016, he was a member of the Committee for Building, Housing and Transport and the Science Committee. From 2014 to 2015 Matthias Brauner was a deputy member of the commission of inquiry “New Energy for Berlin” and from 2015 to 2016 chairman (spokesman) in the 2nd investigative committee “State Opera”.
