Matthias Eisterer

Matthias Eisterer (born February 4, 1849 in Heiligeneich ; † August 15, 1919 ) was an Austrian Catholic clergyman, editor and travel writer.

Monsignor Eisterer was pastor successively in Kranichberg , Petronell , Wiener Neudorf and the parish Sankt Anton zu Padua in Vienna-Favoriten. He was also an honorary canon and inspector for religious education . He wrote books about pilgrimages to Palestine and Lourdes , was editor of Catholic magazines ( Der Lourdes-Pilger , St. Norbertus-Blatt ) and, as a member of the Association for Regional Studies of Lower Austria, also wrote historical articles.
