Matthias Görlich

Matthias Görlich (* 1975 in Mannheim ) is a German graphic designer and professor for communication design / information design at the Burg Giebichenstein University of Art in Halle .

Life

Matthias Görlich studied communication design at Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences . Since graduating in 2000, he has worked with his studio for art institutions such as the Städel Museum and the Schirn Kunsthalle Frankfurt , the Architekturforum Zürich and the Museum für Kunst und Gewerbe Hamburg . Other clients were humanitarian and cultural-political actors, including the United Nations Relief Organization for Palestine Refugees in Jordan, the Goethe Institutes in Stockholm and Mumbai, and the House of World Cultures in Berlin.

Matthias Görlich has been teaching since 2005. He worked at the University of Stuttgart , the Städelschule in Frankfurt , the State University of Design in Karlsruhe and the Zurich University of the Arts, among others . He also led numerous workshops at universities such as KRVIA Mumbai in India, ELISAVA Barcelona, ENSAD Paris, GCU Cairo and RWTH Aachen . Since 2017 he has been professor for communication design / information design at the Burg Giebichenstein University of Art and Design Halle , where he heads the information design study group.
