Matthias Graner (born May 25, 1959 in Minden ) is a German SPD politician and has been a member of the state parliament of Saxony-Anhalt since 2006 .

Life and work

After graduating from high school in 1979, he began a two-year community service . He then studied political science and history until 1987 . From 1986 to 1987, Graner was Research Assistant at the University of Tennessee (USA) and completed his studies with an MA (USA). From 1990 to 1994 he worked as a research assistant at the University of Cologne and Bonn . From 1994 Graner was head of the Magdeburg branch of the Ostakademie Königstein eV. From 2001 to 2002 he worked as a consultant in the SPD state association of Saxony-Anhalt before he was a research assistant in Dr. Reinhard Höppner ( former Prime Minister) was.

Graner is married and has one child.

Politics / party

In 1982 he joined the SPD. Since 2001 he has been chairman of the SPD district association Jerichower Land .

MP

2004–2014 member of the Jerichower Land district council. Graner has been a member of the state parliament since the 5th electoral term (2006). He was elected to the state parliament via the state list of the SPD and is a member of the committee for finance as well as the subcommittee on auditing and the study commission "Consistent advancement of public administration - making it citizen-oriented and sustainable". He has been a member of the Schermen local council since 2014 .
