Matthias Kunert

Matthias Christian Werner Kunert (born December 27, 1963 in Bonn ) is a German doctor, cardiologist and specialist book author.

Life

Matthias Kunert was born in Bonn as the son of the specialist in internal medicine Werner Kunert and his wife Erika-Inge. Since his father became the chief physician of the internal department at the municipal Paracelsus Clinic in Marl, Matthias Kunert grew up in Marl and studied human medicine at the universities of Bochum , Essen and Münster after graduating from the Albert Schweitzer grammar school in Marl . He wrote his dissertation at the University of Münster on the "effect of gallopamil on ventricular arrhythmias, ventricular fibrillation, epicardial conduction delays and the time course of the ventricular fibrillation threshold during myocardial ischemia and reperfusion".

He began his medical work in 1990 at the Bergmannsheil University Clinic in Bochum ( WT Ulmer , H. Schatz ) and then, after a year as a medical officer with Army Aviation Squadron 11 in Rotenburg (Wümme), moved to the Wuppertal Heart Center. From 1991 to 1997 he trained as a specialist in internal medicine (H. Gülker, L. Greiner) and cardiology. In 1997 Kunert moved to the Marienhospital Bottrop (LJ Ulbricht) as a cardiological senior physician. With Ulbricht, Kunert published a textbook on echocardiography , the third edition of which was published in 2010.
