Matthias Oppermann (* 1956 in Gießen ) is a German psychoanalyst (DPV / IPV) and painter .

Life

Oppermann grew up in Giessen, Dörnigheim and Munich . He passed his Abitur in Munich in 1975 and began studying medicine in Hamburg in 1977 . At the same time he completed a multi-year study of figure drawing with Wilhelm M. Busch at the University of Applied Sciences for Design .

In the period from 1987 to 1993 he trained as a psychoanalyst.

Artistic career

The trigger for his painting activities was a surrealist exhibition in Munich, which he had visited at the age of 16. Since 1997 Oppermann has been doing regular exhibition activities, which first made him known in Hamburg and Schleswig-Holstein, and later would lead him to Switzerland and Denmark. Just one year later, he began working as a curator at Galerie Morgenland.

Oppermann is a member of the Association of Visual Artists and the Danish artist group Riimfaxe.

He lives in Hamburg .
