Matthias Scharer

Matthias Scharer (born April 1, 1946 in Mauerkirchen , Upper Austria ) is an Austrian Roman Catholic theologian .

Scharer studied Roman Catholic theology and education. From 1976 to 1979 Scharer worked as a high school teacher for Catholic religion. From 1989 to 1996 Scharer was professor for pedagogy, religious pedagogy and catechetics at the theological faculty of the Catholic-Theological Private University in Linz . Since 1996 he has been professor for catechetics and religious education at the theological faculty of the University of Innsbruck . Matthias Scharer teaches topic-centered interaction according to Ruth Cohn as a graduate of the Ruth Cohn Institute . Scharer is married and has three children.
