Matthias Westerholt

Matthias Westerholt (born September 28, 1963 in Bremen ) is a German lawyer and specialist lawyer for family law in Bremen.

Life

Matthias Westerholt founded a law firm in Bremen after studying law in Freiburg , Munich , Göttingen and Münster , after a one-year study visit to New Zealand and after teaching at the chair for public law at the University of Wuppertal . At an early stage, the focus of his legal and voluntary work was on child-related legal issues.

He is chairman of the association Kinder habenrechte e. V., on the board of the Fluchtraum e. V., a lobbying organization for unaccompanied minor refugees, and spokesman for the federal working group for procedural advisors for the state of Bremen .

Westerholt advises children who live in foster and adoptive families and their relatives in various functions. He is the chairman of the PIVKE e. V., which is dedicated to the well-being of foster and adopted children in the Verden district , and member of the legal advisory board at the Foundation for the Welfare of Foster Children in Holzminden . In addition, he regularly advises numerous institutions of free youth welfare, as well as clubs and associations in the field of child and youth work. Matthias Westerholt is the author of over 20 relevant publications, guides and commentaries on youth welfare law.
